Social Distancing and Marker Buoy Club Dives

Dear Marker Buoy Dive Club Member,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and powerful importance of social distancing to slow its spread, the Marker Buoy Dive Club Board is asking members to suspend/cancel all official hosted club dives until April 3rd.  Minimizing social contact and face-to-face interactions IS  an important weapon to slow the spread of the virus, to protect ourselves and most especially to protect the health of the broader community in which we live.

We will revisit the situation at the end of March on whether this period of suspension for official, hosted club dives will be extended.

We are a great dive community AND we are part of a much larger community.  Our individual actions now can have a powerful impact on the health of many others – even if we don’t see the direct connection.

Although our April monthly meeting has been cancelled, we are planning to conduct the May monthly meeting on-line and will keep you posted.   And of course we encourage you all to stay in touch with each other.  Your member profile, if you have chosen to do so, have your contact information for other members to use.

If you have any questions, please let me or any of the other Board members know.  This decision was the result of a lengthy discussion amongst the Board and we were all in agreement that it is the responsible thing to do at this time.

Below the signature line you will find some helpful and reliable sites for more information on the coronavirus, COVID-19.

With thanks and sincere wishes for your and your family’s health.
